The Rockefeller Apartments

In 1935, Nelson Rockefeller hired Wallace Harrison to design an apartment building for a new way of living: European modernism in New York City. To restore the apartment to its original glory, all subsequently applied ornamentation is being removed with doors and walls returned to their original detailing. Previous tenants had blocked access to light and views. Demolishing these partitions, we have rearranged the entry sequence to allow for light to penetrate deep within the space. To satisfy a modern lifestyle, new bathrooms and kitchen are being installed with a nod to the original art deco influence.
